EZ E's birthday this year was all about him making his own choices. He's getting bigger and I knew that I needed to step back and let him decide how he wanted to spend his special day. He chose this party shark as his school snack (directions here), wanted to make a funfetti cake with chocolate frosting, and chose a restaurant for dinner. His restaurant request? The place with the grapes on the roof...otherwise called The Olive Garden. Ha! We did manage a few surprises- a quick, after-school trip to Chuck E. Cheese and his own child-sized vintage desk filled with office supplies and drawing materials. He loved it!
I went a bit nuts with the Todd Oldham for Target drawing materials; they're pretty fabulous.
The day ended with some of EZ E's favorite people coming over for birthday cake. It was the most perfectly low-key fifth birthday.
