Stack of plaid...

plaidWe stopped at my parents' house the other day and left with a stack of vintage hunting suits. For now, I've piled them on our bedroom floor, waiting for inspiration to strike. What would you do with a stack of wool plaid suits?

Ooooooh....maybe cut them into squares, like 4"x4", and sew them (alternating pattens and stripe directions) into a big blanket (for picnics? for bed?)....or you can upholster that couch with it? Possibilities!!

Lots of over sized pillows maybe, for in front of your fire? :-)

Sorry but I don't have any suggestions on what to do with them, but I have to say that I love the look of the stacked pile. I have such a fondness for plaid: it feels so Canadian and cozy to me. :)

Make an awesome quilt. A tied quilt would probably work best. Or a duvet cover.

I vote for a quilt top backed with cozy flannel-grey or black. Karen from CT

I also vote for a blanket. Definitely backed with a flannel or something really soft!

I once made a jumper with a pleated skirt for my daughter out of buffalo plaid when she was little- so cute with black tights and a black turtleneck. What about a purse, vest, or stuffed teddy bear. Free fabric is such a great thing.

Pillows, hearts of all sizes, a hat, a purse, a vest, a Christmas tree skirt....endless fun!
