My five favorite things from around blogland...

    4. After bartending and waiting table for years (years!!!), I couldn't agree more with this quote. It looks like 29 is the original source, but I'm not positive (found via Joslyn Taylor).

I love everything on your high five list, but especially that tote bag... I may have to get myself one! It's awesome. Thanks for sharing!

Love the quote--I waited tables for what seemed like an eternity, too. I've always thought that absolutely everyone, no matter who they are, no matter whether or not they need a job, should wait tables for, like, two weeks, don't you?

Love the black houses & green foliage, too...in a former life I used to be a jewelry maker, and one of my favorite combinations was blackened silver & jade or peridot--so striking!

Wow, I was having a difficult day and then your blog post turned things around. I guess that's why I check your blog everyday. Today you found me the perfect design for my dream studio - dreaming helps me feel better - and the quote on character was very heart warming. I sent the quote to my boyfriend, who is out of town on business, as he has amazing strength of character and compassion (thanks for reminding me). I feel much better now. Thank you!

Love that quote. Much needed after today. Work was crumby b/c a woman who I work with (who is uber self-righteous) said I was combative in a meeting! I have never been combative in my whole life! Combative! Who even says that word?! Doesn't that mean antagonistic or agressive? WTF! I was asking someone to clarify what they needed from my department for a new grant. I didn't know that asking questions or asking for more info was combative. Gah! So, um...off my tangent now...thanks for the great quote! Ha!

uncle beefy finds the best pins! you should bring the fam out to seattle and we'll all hang out. I have been loving dark exteriors on houses, we have lousy vinyl siding but I pine for the day we can paint the original cedar underneath.
