Life with a 4-year-old...

sad
Evidence of EZ E being particularly 4-years-old this morning: he woke up in a terrible mood and, when asked what he'd like for breakfast, responded, "I just want a sad breakfast". PRH served up a heaping bowl of sad oatmeal. Here's hoping EZ E cheers up. Are all 4-year-olds wildly emotional?

That may be the most literal thing ever.

Everyone talks about the "terrible twos" but nobody warns you about the "frustrated fours"

Oh, poor little EZ E! At least he had an appropriately sad breakfast to go with his mood.

(And, as a former preschool teacher, in my experience, yes, they are all that emotional. Each and every one. Not all of them can articulate it, though!)

Yes they are but filling them up on protien and veggies helps with that. It's just difficult to get it in them. haha

hilarious. sometimes I think I have a 4-year old teenager already. I ask him what he's thinking about and he says, "NOTHING!!" geesh.

can be and if he has been sick and taking any medications this can make for a little roller coaster. trust me it is better than a 15yr who is feeling sad.

Hahah...I LOVE this "sad breakfast". And I love it even more that you indulged him in it:)

both my daughters are emotional beings. They are 3 1/2 and almost 7 so for me it's not a phase...

i like the way your son verbalized his mood vs. throwing a raging fit, which my 3.5 year old is an expert at. =)

(and i've her the fours referred to something else that starts with an F...;)

hehe. I think he and Sebastian would be great friends - when they weren't sad about something. S is my moody, emotional, serious boy but I think he's also getting much sweeter with age. More random kisses and 'best mom ever' statements.

I love the sad breakfast. You two are great parents.;)

This just made me laugh ... maybe because I've dealt with emotional kids all day. I love the oatmeal!

I just found you but wanted to say, with a 4 year old girl, I'm kinda glad to find out it's not just girls. The emotional roller coasters are exhausting in this house.
