Complete sadness...

We are OK, but our town (Owego, New York) and our neighbors are not. Tioga County has, along with most surrounding counties in this part of NY and PA, been completely devastated by flood waters from the Susquehanna River. This video is a quick look at what folks are dealing with in this area. The flood waters have started to recede, but won't be below flood stage until tomorrow at the earliest. Our families and friends are safe...we're all in a kind of holding pattern, waiting to see where help is needed. Our farmhouse is on a hill on the south side of Owego and many parts of our road were washed away. We have no power, no running water, spotty cell service, and no internet connection, but we consider ourselves extraordinarily lucky. This afternoon we were finally able to make it to my in-laws' house for showers and coffee and saw the devastation first-hand. The photos are absolutely devastating. If you're interested in making a donation to Red Cross, you can go to their website or text “REDCROSS” to 90999 to make a $10 donation. We're making a donation to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. All of our energy will go towards helping where we can, so I won't be posting regularly this week. I truly appreciate all of your sweet emails and will check in again when I can. Be well. xo, Abbey

That's the sweetest town I've ever seen. So sad. My relative just lost his house to a flood in Sayre, PA. Devastating.

Our family just moved from Endicott to Austin, TX and we feel "complete sadness" looking through all the photos and videos being published. May God bless you all and strengthen you for the work ahead.
