20 handmade projects in 20 days...day 12. What can I say? I'm on some kind of freakish necklace-making bender. I have to admit that I hadn't used Fimo clay since...oh, 7th grade. I used to make all kinds of weird little projects and I suppose I tired of the medium (yes, at twelve-years-old). Today's project is carved Fimo. I made a bunch of beads, baked them, decided that I didn't like them, and carved them. Don't worry, I'm working on a tutorial, peeps- just what you've always wanted, right? Thanks to Charles Lybrand Photography for sponsoring today's project. Happy 20 in 20!
❤,
Abbey

Ooo la la! I really want this one. I didn't think I could love an Abbey Originals necklace even more than your earlier Fimo masterwork, but today's has just stolen my heart!
It's a very nice necklace. Best regards from Barcelona, Spain,
Marta

I love this beacsue it kind of looks like coal, and I am a coalminers daughter! (and sister, and grand daughter). Me & Loretta Lynn are awesome like that ;)
Love!!! It reminds me of this one, which is carved BEFORE it's baked.

Fimo! I was always mesmerized by those square, plastic-wrapped packages in the craft store as a kid.

I used to be all about crazy Fimo projects, too! I was also way into bent/twisted wire.
So creative - love the result.
Just lovely. This would look great in my collection and on my pretty little neck. = )
very cute :)
Very Cool.
beautiful simplicity.
love the cut marks of the faceting! What a terrific necklace. I suppose there are far worse benders...
Wicked!
pretty! It will go with so much!
I think carving may be the key to getting good results with the faceted femo beads. My attempts at something similar have been sad, sad, sad maybe because the clay is too soft?
I never thought of carving either! That's awesome. Thanks for another lovely inspiration.
Gorgeous!
these are so cool! and so unique.
This is so great! And so grey! (A plus in my book.)
Why are those so cute!? Why.
swoon. love. counting down for the tutorial!
Love this combination with the chain!
the last time I worked with Fimo was probably at the age of 9 ... This necklace really look great, remembers me of basalt.
How coincidental. I was just working last night on some sculpee beads. I was wondering about carving them, too. From your picture, I think I need to make my bead holes a bit wider. Luckily, I haven't baked them yet. Oh, and put me in the giveaway. I love these.
Perfection!!!
Wanna win this!
Thank you all! Tutorial coming really soon!
x,
Abbey
