Steamrollers...

Remember last week when I was blabbing on and on about the badge for the 1967 U.S. pavilion (desgined by Buckminster Fuller)? I had lost mine and finally found it the other day, buried in a box of paint containers. Score! In other less boring news, PRH and I are headed out the door in a minute. We're taking a ride to our undergrad alma mater, SUNY Brockport, for a day of printmaking madness. PRH cut a 4 feet by 8 feet woodcut that will be printed and pressed with a steamroller. Come one, come all...here are the details. Steamrollers and printmaking...keep your fingers crossed that PRH doesn't get flattened (he's kind of accident prone). I'll be sure to share pics one way or the other.

Last spring there was a steamroller press event in downtown Northampton, MA but the steamroller broke down really early into the day! There were a whole lot of people helping out to hand print the giant blocks with wooden spoons and barens--a real labor of love. The best part is seeing all the gorgeous over-sized wood blocks that people have carved. Have fun and hope the steamroller doesn't break down!

Enjoy your day of printmaking madness! SOunds like a fun way to spend a day. I wished my Alma Mater would offer things like print making to alumni.

Greetings from Paris!
