Sorry to inundate you with photos of my kiddos lately, but...well, I have no excuse. I'm with them all day, they're my favorite people, and my favorite people like to build forts! We bought this toy, called Crazy Forts!, for them for christmas and we've been having a lot of fun with it lately. The reviews on Amazon were less than stellar and, while I do agree with some of the comments, most seem to be from folks who simply didn't read directions. If you look at this toy as something to do together as opposed to having your kids set it up by themselves, it makes everyone happier. I particularly like the whole geodesic dome thing it's got going on. Nothing beats a good old fashioned couch fort, but this comes pretty close. Any fort builders out there?

What a fab idea!!!
We have Crazy Forts! We got it for my son's birthday last year. That dome shape is my favorite too, I cover it with all the blankets in the house and call it his yurt.
Love your blog!
Awesome fort!! My boys are just getting to thefort building stage and i love it too! P.s. Your kids are so cute.
Yes- my monkeys build forts, sleep in fort and play in forts ALL THE TIME. In fact we were late for school this morning because of a fort situation.
Ooh, that might be going on a certain son's "Get him this for his birthday" list!
Oh I love this and so will my daughter (in a year or two)...
This looks neat! You might like play stands:

We had two of these stands, lots of clips, colored gauze play cloths, and two awning frames (you don't need the awning frames, but they are nice!) when my kids were little. I liked them especially because it's attractive furniture, not plastic....and the kids can set them up themselves, by the age of 3. When my 7 yr old had her tonsils out, I set the stands up with bedding in the middle, pink cloths draping over it, and put her to bed to heal in there, during the day!
Yep, fort builders here too! My almost 2yo would live in a fort if he could :-)
I love it! I might just have to get this for my nephews who love forts!
It's a good idea
for your lovely kids

We build many a fort here. I used to make them when I was a kid, I love the dome idea! It would save my kitchen chairs from missing for days on end.
I can't wait to do this stuff with my kids!
My parents used to have a whole slew of extra pillows and blankets lying around the house. They would always encourage us to use them with various other pieces of furniture (couch, bar stools, lamps...etc) to make forts down in the den. Some of my fondest memories are many forts my brother and myself would make on a rainy day!
I like the product for the involvement of the parent in the whole fort making process! My Mom used to bake us cookies or make us special "fort lunches" to get herself involved with our rainy day secret fort shenanigans!
Glad to be inundated ...they are adorable and that's a great idea!
yay!! i saw your cool forts in another post and wondered what that structure was. we've had some seriously struggling forts lately and somebody gets super frustrated about it. har! i'll definitely be looking into those.
Thanks for the tips and lovely comments, everyone! I'm definitely going to check out those play stands. I saw a pair at our local *amazing* kids consignment store (Mama Goose if you're anywhere around Ithaca, NY) and they were really cheap and I didn't buy them. Regret! I'm thinking PRH might be able to make some for EZ E's birthday though. The wheels are turning. :)

What a great idea! Pretty pretty interesting!
My blessed mother used to let us take over the living room with a fort on the weekend, as long as we didn't block the TV. So we used all the encyclopedias, extra chairs, extra blankets, and whatever other furniture didn't run away... it was bliss!
rad. and i don't use that word lightly or very often.
SO perfect. I want one. For me.
