♥ (day 1)...

handmade valentine
I'm one of those freaks who loves Valentine's Day, so I thought it would be nice to share the love. I decided to reincarnate my 20 in 20 challenge, valentine style...with a giveaway twist! I'll be making 1 valentine per weekday until Valentine's Day...that's 20 total. Each week, the valentines that I've made will be mailed to five Aesthetic Outburst readers (see rules below)!

Let's get this ♥ party started with valentine number 1, shall we? The color scheme was inspired by this set of stairs from Kate Spade's London pop up shop. It's acrylic on wood and has hardware on the back for hanging. Don't forget to read the rules below. Good luck, my valentines!
xo,
Abbey

Oh! I really enjoyed your 20 in 20 ornaments, they actually brought me to reading your blog! I, too, try to create something everyday-and get so much from seeing how other creatives 'out there' get their hands 'dirty.' I'm curious to see what you come up with! I love the graphic simplicity of this first wall hanging. Thanks for sharing!

I love this Valentine. It reminds me of my sister, (whom I love dearly) who loves London dearly...and crafty things like this :)

valentine's day is my favorite - just because of the hearts. i have a small heart tattoo on the back of my neck (it was my first ever tattoo; had to start small!) and i have an addiction to all things hearts, much to my boyfriend's chagrin. i'm always on the look out for heart shaped/themed things at goodwill, and i go a little crazy when target has their post-valentine's day sale.

thanks for sharing your creativity with us! :D happy monday!

If loving Valentine's Day is wrong, I don't want to be right! I'm a fellow V-Day freak and I can't wait to see what marvels you come up with! (And winning a real, live Abbey original, well that's just the icing on the heart-shaped cake)!

Love that kind of British seaside-y vibe going on here - well, at least I find it a little seaside-y, what with the slightly worn look, the bold graphics and all. Have been reading your blog for a long time, it's usually the thing I do to ease me into sitting in front of the computer and work.

Love the colour combination with the bare heart in the middle. Can't wait to see more <3

Just saw this gorgeous wee piece over on Flickr... I can't beleive you're giving it away!? It is so beautiful and I would so happily give it a new home... :) Can't wait to see what other wonderful treats you'll be creating for this round of '20 in 20'... I love the black and white baubles you made before christmas... :)

Hi Abbey! I've been a faithful reader for quite a while now, and this year, I made a resolution to tell the bloggers I read that I love their work - and this is a perfect opportunity! I love your work! Thanks for sharing your sweet little family, your collections and great finds, and especially your fabulous crafty/artsy goodness! It would be a pleasure to own one of your creations! Take care, and have a fabulous 2011! Jules in Switzerland!! : ) (next resolution is to figure out how to manage the google account stuff so that this doesn't say 'anonymous' : ) )
