Long-time readers may remember my collection of vintage birds that I posted a while ago. They've been packed away for three years and, yet again, I've managed to accumulate more. There's no better time than the holidays to bust out all of my cluttery clutter though, right? So the birds are back. I stole a tree branch from our neighbor's yard, used floral foam to prop it in a white flower pot from Target, and threw some moss on top. Due to my absent-minded collecting, I was forced to add another branch (forced, PRH)! More on the deer later. Do any of you have collections that you only bring out at certain times of the year?

Oh I like them! I only seem to collect clutter and dust... maybe birds are the way forward.

This may be one of the most beautiful post's I have seen in a long time. I can't believe it! I am so glad I happened upon your blog this morning. What a wonderful way to wake up. :)
Yay for a maximalist holiday! The birds are really fun. We just pulled out my collection of old neck ties to make some garlands.
Not vintage, but Pier 1 has some great birds with long tail feathers on sale with their Christmas stuff...
Oh, my goodness...I am in love with this. I collect shroom birdies and I may just need to do something similiar one day. You are an inspiration.

love the birds...
...and your blog. ill be back soon!
you know, your old bird collection prompted me to start a collection. I inherited one of my grandma's old glittery gold bird ornaments...and I have never found a tree-topper as lovely as my mom's, so the little gold bird perched on top last christmas. so now I have this notion of having the top fourth of my tree totally full of old birds. yay!
BEAUTIFUL!!!! I love it!
These are beautiful! What a great display. Now I want to start collecting something.
The birds are my favorite collection of yours, next to the books. Just putting that out there so your readers don't think I'm a complete aesthetic muffler. - PRH
Oh wow! So beautiful!!I wish I had as many birds as you:) So colorful. I really like your blog by the way.So much inspiration. I just posted some of your ornaments on my blog. I hope that is ok. I really like them too:) Have a wonderful christmas!
Wow!!Those birds looks great!
I collect birds too! Mine live on an old chandelier that I painted a lovely golden yellow. Everyone that stops by my studio comments on it immediately – usually with an "Oh, that's...uh...interesting." or "Wow, you really like birds, huh?" I've even had some teenage girls call me the bird lady. :) Now, if they saw my vintage deer collection...
LOVE this!
Oh I so love this!!
I LOVE this. I have an old birdcage that I've been wanting to fill with birds for a long time.
My mouth is hanging open...that is beyond gorgeous! I love it!! My mother would hate it, i'm sad to say...she is terrified of birds- you know, because of the thousands they kill yearly (ha!)
love it!
My husband is allergic to christmastrees.. Maybe this could be our alternative?
I just fell in love with this whole display!! I featured it in a post with a collection of inspiring trees. Thought you might like to take a peek... http://findingmyaloha.blogspot.com/2011/12/trees-worth-pining-over.html
