Any advice...

I thought I'd kick today off with a partial glimpse at my latest weird purchase. I've become consumed with using cookie cutters for EZ E's preschool lunches and found a great site called cincinnati cake and candy supplies that sells an incredible assortment. They weren't expensive and he loves eating sandwiches in the shape of mermaids, rhinos, and gnomes. The problem? How to organize these things. For now they're sorted by type (animal, holiday, etc) and stored in ziploc bags, but they're bulky. I thought about hanging one of those shoe organizers on the back of our pantry door (yes, the collection has gotten that out of control). Any tips? Btw, I'll be back later this morning with answers to your questions.

Slide them on a belt ring. I'm not sure where you would hang it up, as it may be a little out of place in the closet. You could make cardboard seperators. Animals, Cars, Ocean, Space...

I knew someone who had their's hung up and displayed on a peg board - it was a neat look

I wonder if you could make use of a magnetic strip. Unless they're aluminum, that is.

Or, maybe, a collection of apothecary jars, but it sounds like you need a vertical storage idea.

You could always use them as art. Put them in some shadow boxes on your kitchen or dining room walls. They can be your content-appropriate art display!

little nails on the wall?? i guess they'd need some washing before using, but they'd be in plain sight and easy to grab. plus i think they'd look cool displayed all together.

My sister stores her massive collection in plastic tubs stacked in her garage, seperated into categories, and then has a spreadsheet with complete listing for each tub.

Then again, she might be crazy.

I love this post!! I always wonder what to with mine too. Currently they hang out in the drawer under the oven or in the kids drawer (We have a drawer specifically for the kids to play with, it was easier than constantly trying to find a space for odd shaped tupperware). You have some wonderful suggestions I might steal. Thank you! PS I love the crazy spreadsheet lady, that's awesome.

Great ideas, everybody. I haven't decided yet what to do. I think I may go the shoe storage route (back of the pantry door). I haven't had time to wander the aisles of Target without a screaming mimi. Will let you know as soon as I come to a solution. xo, Abbey
