This weekend...

What are you up to this weekend? I was considering making candy apples for Kicky's first birthday and thought I'd do a test run this weekend. Has anyone made them before? Thumbs up or down? Have a fantastic weekend and I'll see you all again on Monday!

Ooo, I love caramel apples in the fall! I made some a few years ago for a friend’s baby shower and they were a big hit. What made them really special was using lady apples which are very small. That would be perfect for little kiddos. I got the idea here, but I think I used a different recipe for the caramel. Have fun!

What am I up to? Well, my precious mom is getting better so i am going home for the weekend to be with hubby. I will probably do some scrapbooking.

Hello! For a birthday party, I've dipped apples in melted candy chocolate (the kind that comes in different colours) and then dipped them/sprinkled them in sprinkles and all kinds of fun stuff (gummies etc) (for older kids, I let them do it as the 'craft' to take home, this involves a bit of coordination, like only 4 at a time, because the chocolate has to be warm for the sprinkles to stick, but it's a huge hit) I've even put out gummy worms so that they can add it to the apple! I do this at the beginning of the party as the 'ice-breaker' and then they are cool and ready to send home by the end! I also use sticks from outside to give the apples a 'rustic look' (and this was because the first time, I had forgotten to get proper sticks, but this worked out so much better!) All in all, they are super easy, and look fabulous! Good luck! Post your recipe if you find one! Cheers!

half the fun will be in the messy making and licking of the spoon when finished. enjoy!

I love making candied apples this time of year. First I dip apples in melted caramel, then, once dried, they would ALSO be dipped in dark chocolate. They're my favorite fall treat!

I found some of your home tour pics on Flickr after a random search to find things/crafts made of cardboard boxes (we moved from Ottawa, Canada, to Bogota, Colombia a few weeks ago and our shipment of belongings just arrived yesterday... we're DROWNING in huge moving boxes!).

A quick look at your blog and you have a new subscriber!

Happy weekend.

I made them a while ago. They were so easy and the messier they looked the better they tasted! Here is a link to my post http://thekrazykujawas.blogspot.com/2007/10/my-friend-meghan-and-i-decided-to-be.html
