Country revisited...

I got an email from Urban Outfitters last week about the arrival Pendleton products in Urban stores. So rad! I love Pendleton blankets. They're totally classic and last f-o-r-e-v-e-r. I can't wait to see these in person. I was talking to our friend this weekend about the inevitable resurgence of 80's country. I think it's starting to happen, but I'm hoping that we'll slip into a better version of it (mauve and country blue still make me feel a little ill). What do you think?

i agree! there are so many under-appreciated parts of the 80s, but i do not think country blue and mauve are one of them. but i think most trends resurface with improvements, so let's hope! what really scares me is the slight resurgence of some 90s music and fashion, and i really, really do not want to relive the mustard yellow/maroon/forest green/navy color scheme, or the ill-fitting women's clothing from those days! on a sidenote, i think i appreciate the pendleton blankets much more now than i did several years ago. especially the color combos. :)

Ugh. We can only hope that mauve doesn't make a comeback. And let's cross our fingers that THESE (http://tinyurl.com/ydwf44z) stay in hiding, too.

Vicki,
I wanted one of those SO badly when I was young. My parents refused, but my mom offered to make me one! Yes, make it herself! (egads) At my request, it was mint green and it was totally awful. I'm also hoping that they don't make a comeback because they give me nightmares. :)

OMG, I wanted one too! All my cousins in Colorado had them and I was so jealous! My mom wouldn't let me have one though, she said people might make fun of me. This from the woman who let me wear all pink from head to toe in middle school. That was ok?

I actually had a baja – but a tasteful, aqua blue and white one (at least I thought so at the time). My family took a cross-country motorhome trip in '91, and I got one in South Dakota (I think). I guess I thought they were so cool. They were warm, but REALLY scratchy!
