I am slowly making my way through "A Year in the World" by Frances Mayes. I picked it up at a library book sale for a couple dollars and it's been worth it. Sort of like a little imaginary vacation when we don't have or money to take one at the moment. However, I've heard this is probably the author's "worst" book so I'm curious to check out her other ones.
I'm about to start reading Foer's Eating Animals, which I hear is incredibly eye-opening and disturbing but amazing. I'd love to know what you're reading currently!
We have many bookmarked books as well. I love checking back in and seeing what my hubs left behind.I just picked up "Please" fiction based on Smiths songs. It's fun. cute blog.
Love to see the signs of well-used, well-loved books! I'm reading Twyla Tharp's "The Creative Habit: Learn it and Use it For Life"; a gift from my husband for Christmas. I tend to read fiction and memoirs, but this hooked me pretty easily. It's the first book I plan to post about once I finish. Lots of dog-ears. I'm terrible about using bookmarks.
I've been keeping "A Capote Reader" among the many books on my bedside table and enjoying a short story whenever I can. Also, "People of the Book" is very good.
i've been reading christopher moore's books. . . they are so fun.
Just finished Patti Smith's Just Kids, which I love and want to reread again soon, now I'm wandering languidly through Colette's Break of Day.Cheryl--I thought a Year in the World was wonderful. . . as are all of Frances Mayes' books.
