Today did get better. I had been saving an old spice shaker forever, so this afternoon we filled it with bird seed, slapped a fancy label on it, and went out to feed the birds. Our whole yard was soon filled with crackles, which made EZ E ecstatic.

What a great idea - spice shaker for birdseed! Now if I can chase the darned feathered ones away from my garden seeds, we'll all be happy.
