Send to me...

Hello, awesome shipping container house. I saw this while trolling through pixiegenne's flickr photostream. It was designed by architect Adam Kalkin. See more of his work here.

Logo love...

Loving these clean graphics from Chicago-based Adapt-Studio.

Find...

EZ E wanted to stop into an antique store the other day (he may only be two, but he's already pretty brilliant) and we found these hand-painted hex signs. The color palette is fabulous, so I was quite thrilled when EZ E wanted to buy them (like I said, two year olds...genius). I think he has a good eye, wouldn't you agree?

I'd like to know...

Yes, today is Monday. We're a little behind around the A.O. house on this fine Monday. Today I'd like to know...Martha Rich. I've admired her work for a long time and was blown away by her sketchbooks on Book By Its Cover. These are so quirky and interesting...perfect work in my mind. You can see more of Martha Rich's work on her website or on Book By Its Cover. I'll be back tomorrow with normal posting once I have a chance to catch up with my "normal" life. :)

Awesomeness...

I saw this collection of pins made with security envelopes a long time ago on something's hiding in here. Sweetie Pie Press had been collecting them and I think they're so lovely, particularly grouped together. All kinds of other awesomeness at The Sweetie Pie Press shop.

Happy weekend...

We have a busy weekend ahead of us, with a graduation party and dinner to go to on the same day. Wouldn't this sign from Pedlars make a cute hostess gift? Have a great weekend, everyone! See you again on Monday.

Wow...

I know I'm not the only one who totally LOVED Michael Jackson's music...and I also know I'm not the only one who wanted a shiny white glove. If I remember correctly, a certain friend (who will remain nameless) wore a white glove to elementary school.

Wonderland...

Looking forward to Tim Burton's version of Alice in Wonderland (March 2010). It looks gorgeous, doesn't it?

Hello, delicious...

My goal for the day? To make these donuts that I found via simple song. It's not often that I post about food, but this prego lady wants some donuts!

Perfectly matched...

This is my absolute dream car. Navy blue, leather hood straps, Porsche! Hell yes!!! Joanna posted it on A Cup of Jo and I've been drooling ever since. I've wanted a Porsche Speedster since I was a little girl and am OK with the fact that we probably won't own one until I'm an old lady. Navy blue will perfectly match my blue hair. Oh, and the guy it belongs to has a rad blog too.

Collected...

I like collections that are functional and I think this image* is the perfect example of a collection put to good use. Isn't this a lovely arrangement?

Abbey the bad friend...

I just realized that I forgot to wish one of my VERY best friends a happy birthday. I think we even spoke on the phone that day. I am a TOTAL ass. Happy birthday, Kris! We love you...even if we are jerks!

present & correct...

Don't you just love everything at present & correct? They have an etsy shop too. Yipppeeeee!

Orange you glad...

How gorgeous is this orange wishbone chair by Hans Wegner?! It's available via Carl Hansen and you can see more photos here.

Sew awesome...

Now that I know we're having a little girl I've been obsessing over baby clothing. My obsession has been fueled by beautiful blog called katie did. I can't remember where I originally saw the link to her blog, but the clothing she makes for her children is incredible (as you can see from these images). It makes me want to sew every outfit our kids leave the house in...well, except that I don't really know how to sew. It's on my to do list for the summer now that we're living closer to family members who sew really well. Wish me luck.

Art with an A...

A little eye candy from artist Christine Buckton Tillman. Check out her shop here and website here.

Too good...

Toss on a white t-shirt and a pile of these necklaces...perfection. They're made by Maria R and are available in her shop.

Cravings...

I've been having some strange cravings lately...strangest of all has been my insatiable need for lemonade. Icecream has also been on the list and I started drooling when I saw these sculptures by Tim Berg. They're made of wood! Awesome, right?

Pity the pregnant lady...

It rained all weekend here and I have been absolutely M-I-S-E-R-A-B-L-E. So has someone else in the A.O. household...someone whose name begins with an E. All weekend long it was, "Go outside?"..."Mama, go outside now?!" until it became an ever-so-screechy "OUTSIDE!". I think the only thing that made me not want to scream all weekend was coming across this awesome bike via random inspiration and spending half an hour creating a series of dream bikes. After what I've "suffered" through this weekend I think PRH should take pity on his pregnant wife and order her a Republic Bike. The blue one.

Twig...

Isn't this necklace from Twigs and Heather fabulous?

I'd like to know...

Today is Monday, so that means it's time for I'd like to know, a weekly post dedicated to talented artists, designers, etc...all people I'd like to know and who I thought you may like to know of too. Today I'd like to know...Florence Tetier, an amazing graphic designer based in Switzerland. See more of her work here. Super awesome!

Summer, summer, summertime...

Katie from The Constant Gatherer wrote a great post about the home of dottie angel. This photo is just one of many beautiful shots and screams summer to me. The vintage truck, the airstream camper, the garland...yes! Not only is her home great, but she also has a lovely blog. Check it out here and be sure to check out The Constant Gatherer too! Have a relaxing weekend, everyone!

Quiet moments...

Now that I've calmed down...I am really looking forward to more moments like this with our second baby (this is PRH and EZ E, btw).

Bad etiquette...

You are not going to believe this! Yesterday I found a vintage Eames Lounge chair on craigslist for $100! When I called the guy, however, he said it had sold three days ago. Yes, THREE days ago. My message to you, Mr. I-Leave-My-Posts-Up-Forever...take your damn post down! Arrggghhhhhhhhhhh!!! Responsible citizens do not let people like me think they're about to make the best score on earth and then say something like, "Oh, duh...it sold three days ago. Ah duh". I even went hunting on the Living, etc. website looking for furniture placement inspiration. Damn you. On a happier note, I've decided to never have curtains again because of this photo. Hello again, sunshine!

Rock and roll...

OK, OK...last post about doilies for today...and maybe forever (cue mad scientist laugh). In the right setting (ie. more rock-and-roll/less Victorian-doll), these Umbra Mirrors would look great. Who said granny chic was dead?

In a name...

We're continuing today's doily theme with these lovely prints by Kiss Her that Holly from Decor8 posted recently. I'm not usually a doily fan, but these are pretty rad. Don't you think there should be a more scientific name for doily fans though? Doily-holics...fanati doilus...I'm open to suggestions. Any ideas?

Collected...

I found a new blog that I love called rambling renovators. This photo is from there* and I think this is a great way to display a collection like this. The black backgrounds make the doilies look much more graphic and interesting than say...the same doilies perched on the back and arms of a flowery sofa. I did something similar a while ago with some vintage Barbie sweaters I had as a little girl. I'll have to take a better photo to share. Now that I'm thinking about it, they'd be perfect for the walls of Kicky's nursery. Hmmmm.

Bold and Noble...

Love, love, love this print by Bold & Noble! Actually I love ALL of their prints.

*found via Design*Sponge.

Perfect wedding...

Check out Laura Normandin's amazing wedding via Martha Stewart.* I particularly loved her clever butterfly bouquet. Oh, and how cute is this photo of her and her husband bicycling away from their reception? Wouldn't you love to have a photo like that of your parents or grandparents?

Calling all artists...

Our lovely and talented friends from second storie are at it again! They just started accepting applications for their next indie market. Click here to find out more. Congratulations, ladies!

Talented friends...

I've been in much need of inspiration lately and headed over to see what my friend Meghan was up to. She made this felted-wool piece for an exhibition at the Worcester Art Museum. I'll bet it looks even better in person. You can see more of Meg's work in her shop. She's quite a talent!
