Floored...

PRH and my dad are finishing up the studio this week. We should be able to start moving furniture next week, which is SO exciting! I've been in a bit of a creative funk since we've moved home and am looking forward to having some studio time again. As I mentioned before, it's a renovated barn so the floors are more than a little wonky and needed to be leveled. I'm thinking about stenciling the floors to make them look a bit better and have been looking for inspiration. Which do you like best?

Images from Design*Sponge, Design*Sponge again (My Marrakesh), and Apartment Therapy LA.

I'm partial towards the first one but it also looks like it would be the most difficult one to replicate.

I like the last one best...how it is a section of the floor and not the whole floor. Also like the contrast on that one too. Although I think a slight contrast would be better for the whole floor, maybe the yellow one with a slightly more pale yellow stenciling.

Well, I adore the yellow, but I would probably wimp out in my own house and go with the white lace. :)

Sounds like a fun project!

hi abbey! they are all swoon-worthy, but the top lace floor is my favorite--unexpected for something so seemingly delicate to be underfoot. hope you enjoy your new space!

You may already be familiar with it, but you check out the floor that Nicole from Making It Lovely did for the BHG challenge.

I'm a sucker for yellow. I like that the pattern is larger and less complicated than the others too.

The middle one is my favorite. Not only because I'm partial to yellow, but I like the larger pattern.

I like the yellow pattern best. It's bright and happy and if you drop something small you can probably find it easier than on a small pattern. Goodluck in the new studio. I'm buying a house this month with a room that will be my jewelry studio!

Depends on what the floor itself looks like. I think the large pattern goes best with large, obvious floorboords- you won't lose the character of the floor.

But of they'll be all filled in and smooth after leveling, a smaller patter would be better. The lace is gorgeous, but definitely difficult!

I like the scale and contrast level of the middle image best, but am more partial to green as a base color. Maybe a green background with a pale green pattern? Or a light green with white pattern?
