Here's a look at a new drawing/print I'm working on (sorry for the washed out photo). I have a critique today, so I thought I'd prepare myself by taking a minute to share my process. So, here it goes:
I start by gluing together found prints
and then I add layers and layers of paint (the image below only has two layers) and sand back into the surface.
My color palette and imagery references our neighborhood...the pink from a building around the corner, the scalloped shape is taken from shingles, the calligraphic flourish is a reference to graffiti, etc.
So, hopefully you get the idea. Keep your fingers crossed for me...critiques make me feel sick.
