Our swell book-buying friends...
You know people know you very, very well when they buy you books from your wish list without knowing that the books were even on your wish list. Our amazing 30th birthday gifts/books were as follows: Alisia and Duncan (and Angus and Nina) gave us Post Secret: Extraordinary Confessions From Ordinary Lives by Frank Warren; Rachael and Jake gave us The Three Incestuous Sisters: An Illustrated Novel by Audrey Niffenegger (not as creepy as it may sound); Tim gave us Art Game Book by David Rosenberg; and (drum roll, please...) the most coincidental purchase of all, Kris and Dan gave us Whatcha Mean, What's a Zine? by Esther Pearl Watson and Mark Todd (I had just purchased it, so we exchanged it for Blackstock's Collections: The Drawings of an Artistic Savant by Gregory L. Blackstock). We exchanged the zine book at a fabulous new store in Rochester called :Nook, located at 658 South Avenue (Nook Rochester). They have great books, magazines and music, and modern decor for your humble (or not-so-humble) abode, including the ever-so-lovely Oeuf crib that we had wanted for EZ E. So, if you're in Rochester anytime soon be sure to stop by and check it out!
